Angry So Angry!

Sign in to disble this ad
I've lived in NY for almost 2 years now, and for about a year now, I've lived on Staten Island since no one else wants to live there so the rent is cheap.

There is a park not far from where I live, and I like going for walks there when I have time. Its peaceful and I hate people so it works out. I also like feeding the ducks and reading a book to. However, I've been noticing that lately, there aren't many ducks anymore. I figured it had something to do with migratory patterns or some such.

Then I noticed today that a duck was running around by the lake towards bushes. It was a piece of bread on a string and they were luring it into the bushes to catch in a pillow case to eat later.

I ended up getting into a fight with people who don't even speak english over it. I'm so angry.

Why can people do this? Should I call the cops on them next time I see them?

Put a duck on a string, pull it into the bushes where you are waiting with a REALLY big pillow case...

It is illegal AFAIK. You might call the city tomorrow and verify, and let them know.

I'm pretty sure that is illegal. But since they don't speak English, they'll just play stupid if the cops show up. Happens out here all the time when the fish and game guys bust the immigrants illegally harvesting shellfish.

Thats basically whats happening. I don't wanna sound like a racist, but I mean, they're just day laborers who aren't here legally in all liklihood. And now they're destroying my park.

I would be more angry that decent, hard-working, people have to lurk in bushes and catch ducks in a bag to stay fed in a modern American city.

You are gonna see a LOT more things like this in the coming weeks. Get used to it.

By decent, you mean likely illegal immigrants?

Bring your friends to the park, give them a good beating and pee on them to clearly state "this is YOUR territory".

No matter what kind of people they are and no matter were they come from, just inform the police. Just because they don't speak or understand English will not preserve them from law. As Read Icculus put it, don't get angry, do something about it and informing the police might be the best idea first.

Hey, I have a friend in Guernsey, works in the legal sector. Any chance you might know him?

Guernsey is a very small place, my friend knows a lot of people as the expat community is quite tight. Its not as ridiculous as it might seem!
