There is. Elvis : The Movie starring Kurt Russell is John Carpenters "lost" movie. Made just after Halloween i think. Pretty good if memory serves and deals with the early years up until his comeback in 1968.
Russell was immense. Check it out..

there is an elvis movie called "elvis, the way it was," which covers the post comeback early las vegas stuff, it is awesome

It was very good, IMO. I liked Kurt Russell's acting before that, but I didn't think he'd be able to pull it off. I was wrong; he was great. I didn't know John Carpenter did that movie. Wasn't it made for TV?

The made for tv one Jonathan Rhys Myers did a few years ago was actually really pretty good. And he totally looked like him.
