I was at our annual Rookie Lifeguard Party, which is a party that our first year guards throw for everyone. It's a long tradition. Anyway, it was a Mardi Gras theme with lots of naked chicks running around and needless to say it was a beautiful thing. In the process, however, I missed the opening ceremonies in China. Is there a way I can see it? Will it be rebroadcast? I want to see it in HD? |

paul | Well, as you could imagine, my interpretation of an Olympic Opening Ceremony in China might deviate from the original script a little bit. I don't even think they have pork and beans in china. |

Go ahead and treat that as a rhetorical question, I don't actually care what the answer is.

It was the most expensive, technological & impressive show I have seen in my life. You just can't describe how amazing it was in every detail. If you missed it, you missed one of the greatest performances EVER, on Earth!!!
Hopefully it will be on DVD.
I can't even start to describe it. |

On a completely unrelated note, if you block someone on TB, do threads they create not show up too? I hope so. |

I can't even start to describe it. | My wife Tivo'd it and I saw it today and I agree. About the only way to top that would be to have Elvis return in an alien craft. In a Borat style swimsuit. It was flat out amazing.
Then again I didn't see it in a newspaper.

| | | | It was like taking Blue Man Group, 'Cirque du Solei, Stomp, All of Las Vegas & Time Squares LED computerized light screens, that fly around and unroll and combine them with 2008 performers in complete synchronization of every body part choreographed that gave the appearance of a sea of robots or computerized LED 2008 human performers, for each of about 10-15 individual completely different performances, then add to that the Bird's Nest stadium huge wrap around screens, the complete stadium lighting in brilliant colors, along with enormous fireworks displays. |
