I spent 27 dollars at Wal-Mart for a pair of Dickies and 2 shirts on clearance. My dollar goes futher

Since American Eagle probably paid 10 bucks for everything from a low cost labor clearing house (aka sweatshop), they still made their money.

I never got why people would pay such ridiculous prices for jeans from designer stores or stores like AE and Abercrombie and Fitch. All of the jeans probably come from the same factory or the same chain of factories and just get different labels.

Who cares the clothes you buy at Wal-Mart are made over seas too? I am getting sick of opening every thread on TB and seeing you being a hater.

Because they fit better and look better than your everyday Levis. They have more fit options because they are selling to a smaller market of people rather than having the 501 jean that is sorta built for the "everyman." And to behonest, I get most of my jeans at The Buckle and they are all either US or Mexican made, depending on brand.

Put me on your ignore list then. It won't hurt my feelings. It's an easy fix.

You can actually tell the difference between cheap and more expensive clothing. Fit, stiching quality etc differs.

Last time I bought clothes (all my other clothes got to big), I got two shirts, two t-shirts, and two pairs of jeans for thirty bucks. All at kohls. Levi's jeans, dickies shirts, and hanes t-shirts. They'll last me until next summer.

This weekend I splurged on 3 designer shirts for stage-wear and whatnot, I paid about $140, but last weekend I hit the thrift shop and got 2 pairs of jeans, 2 t-shirts, and 1 pair dress pants for $20.
Everyday clothing I get at Walmart or that lovely clearance rack at Target.
I figure that it all evens out in the end.

I shop everywhere from Walmart to Armani Exchange. Just somethings to me don't matter origin or material like underwear, socks, etc. I love jeans, and just pants in general for that matter. I usually try to go for the sales and not blow my money and I know when something is just way out there but there is a difference in just fit, stitching, and feel of the material. Though I'm starting to watch out for though is some more high end clothing company putting out subpar quality clothing with rough and cheap fabrics that are made from the same factory as the stuff you're seeing at more economical priced places. That or just cheap materials being used.

I'll never brag about where I bought something, and for the most part most of clothing is under the $10 for a Tshirt, $15 for jeans. I just like buying whatever looks nice that and my girlfriend, she's a very good dresser and I just would like to try to match her some day. I know I shouldn't really care but I just know there are times where my ragtag punk, ripped shirts and flannel just won't cut it.

So no, you're not a cheapstake, I'd think of as smart shopping. Also in the realm of designer stuff, Lucky Brand is one I really like. All their jeans, shirts, sweaters etc are wonderful and while I'm not sure if this 100% valid, they do boast a made in the USA tag. The only thing is one pair of jeans can hit $120, just got to wait for sales and deals. The store always brings a sort of 60s to 90s hippie grunge thing going. While the prices aren't meant for someone living in a van crossing the nations they have some funky stuff.

Edit: Oh and on the inside flap to the zipper on both male and female it says "Lucky You"

There are two things that I think are worth spending money on: Good clothes and good food.

Good clothes will last you a long time, as long as you don't go buying into some fad, etc, and stick to classic looks. And you can get some great deals if you're persistent in finding/getting what you want. Some guy made a joke about my 'Prada' shoes the other day, and I just laughed, because they're far from 'Prada' status, but the look is there.

And yes, Kohls is a great place to shop for 'clearance' clothing.

I could go on all day about clothes...

Andrew

PS, Levis makes more styles than the good 'ole 501...

You spent 55$ and you only got two shirts and a pair of jeans? Are you kidding me, are these clothes lined with solid gold or something?

+1 to the quality clothing argument. I tend to buy things that are a little bit on the expensive side, but on the other side of the coin I do have some clothes that I've worn for more than 8 years, and they're still in great condition.

Every time oyu save money you're earning money.
Who cares.
Cheaper people have more stuff as long as you're not looking only at price theres nothign wrong with that.

Anyway I went shopping

$155

3 Dress Shirts
3 T-Shirts
3 Pairs of Boxers
2 Pairs of Levi Jeans
3 Pairs of Socks

I pay attention to necessity, quality, and price in those orders. I don't buy cheap stuff, I buy inexpensive.

I buy a lot of stuff from Marshall's.

I got a pair of $170 Coogi jeans last week for $65, at Marshalll's. They've always got great deals on big name brand stuff.

I always try to buy things on sale, and don't spend a lot in clothing, I wear regular brands such as Levis, vans, quicksilver... And I don't consider myself a cheap guy.

My daughter is a store manager at American Eagle, and I know there's a big sale on. All you did was shop wisely.

ME - I buy my jeans at Ross and get Polos for $16. I've never paid over $32 for a pair of jeans in my life, and don't plan to.

Buying on sale or at discount is NOT cheap - it's smart.
