Was just like I remember it before, like eating drywall. Not really tasty and kinda strange. I really don't get whats so funny about it, Stephen Carell is obnoxious at best, and it really don't seem to get any relevancy to anything. So you guys that like the show what are you getting out of it?

| | | | I think the show's lost a bit of its mojo the last couple seasons, but at its best, I think it's hilarious.

Like someone said above, if it's not for you, then it's not for you. |

Michael's hatred for Toby, Dwight's overall awkwardness and crazy character, the relationship with Pam and Jim are what initially got me into the show. |

The British one always makes me laugh though.

The Office (US) takes the humor of the English series and adapts it to American characters. To its detriment, IMO, because American characters in comedies tend to be much more likeable:
So Steve Carell's Michael is just kind of dumb. Nice enough, but really misses this boat. Same goes for most of the characters... They don't get it, and they don't get it All The Time. That's not subtle, nor dry.
In fact, you have the two straight men (Pam and whatever his name is) who can stand there and say "hey, look! These people are dumb!!!" By having a straight man, you detract from the humor.
Gervais's Michael, on the other hand, is an impossible human to like, as are most of the rest of the cast. That's the beauty of the UK show.
This is only based on the first season of each, fwiw. |

You either get it or you don't.
I feel sorry for those who don't.

I have actually enjoyed the Brit one at times. The US one left me totally cold.
