I'm in my senior year of high school and I'm takingAP Honors American National Government/Microeconomics (It's one class) and AP Psychology to finish up with. How hard is each and what should I be expecting??

I love history by the way.

As with most of your education, it depends on the teachers, how much you apply yourself and things like that. I loaded up on AP classes my Jr. and Sr. years in high school, and didn't have hardly any issues with them at all...

at my school, AP gov was a semester long joke.
Psych was easy as long as you are good at memorizing words and definitions and writing.

About 100 times easier than your classes once you start university.

I always hated the AP kids. I took an AP English class it almost bored me into a coma, there's nothing special about AP IMO.

The thing I like about AP classes is that it looks good to have, plus, it REALLY helps out your GPA if it's low for whatever reason.

Has anyone taken Microeconomics???

Because education in nowadays idolizes petty accomplishments, It's the "everyone's a winner" mentality that's creating a poor quality workforce of the upcoming generation. Not everyone is a winner.

I agree 100%. I took a decent amount of AP classes during high school, but if I could go back I would load up on even more. The effort you put into the class in HS is way worth not having to take the equivalent course at the university level.
Those classes won't be that bad. Just keep up with the work.

My experience was the complete opposite. The college classes were way easier than the AP classes/tests. They're not worth it IMO, I think they kind of kill the high school experience be heaping a ton of unnecessarily hard work on top of you.

I don't know how you guys took your AP classes in high school, but mine were comparable to college classes, and I go to a big/good university. So my advice would be not to load up on them without knowing that you can buckle down if necessary. Granted, I was in the IB program in highschool too, so that's what I was used to the whole time.

Of the AP classes I had though, micro econ, gov, and psych were the easiest if you can read a book and take notes.

If you have good teachers in high school it shouldn't be an issue. If you have to worry a whole lot about passing AP classes, or your workload, you may want to look into something other than going to a university. Of course, I have a really solid college gpa, and high school was an utter cake walk for me, ap classes and all. YMMV.

I always laugh when I see someone that gave a professor all 1's on Rate my professor (well worth going to) because they didn't get a cake walk A. I can understand being upset at a professor about certain things, but having to take notes and study to get an A is just ridiculous.

Seeing as I despise the "high school experience" and everything it entails it's probably good I'm taking AP courses.

They are very different than regular courses here. They're tougher in most cases but more importantly, they're more intellectually stimulating. You're expected to do more than be a warm body for the teacher to talk at. In fact, I've always done better in AP for exactly that reason, the regular courses bore me to tears and I tend to do worse. Not to mention, college credit is never a bad thing.

Plus they prepare you for college courses where you are expected to be involved in some form of intelligent conversation, or bring something to the class. Its always nice to have a class that is more than just staring at powerpoints for an hour and a half.

Geez, I know! They didn't even go over spelling, grammar, or punctuation.

Depends on what your major is and what courses you take. I have friends that have never had a class smaller than a hundred person lecture (not including labs). I am lucky to be an English major, which puts my class sizes between 15 and 30.

Ever since I got out of my gen ed classes I haven't had any like that. Most of my classes now have an upper limit or 20-35 so I guess I'm lucky like that.
