I haven't been in here for several years. I've just gotten back into playing after about 3-4 years sabbatical. Prior to that I played for about 13 years in various church and gospel bands. Still shaking the rust off, it seems like there's a whole new community out there of scruffy little kids who know slap and not much else. I'm anticipating something big in music to happen up here in New England. Hopefully when it explodes, it explodes on me.

OK now back to scales...

Uh... This is hardly new... And it's hardly young kids who only do slap... Yeah...

Not very many TB posts render me speechless. This is one.

Sorry I just meant I'm still getting back into working my proficiency back up and that requires doing the deed... Walking scales, etc... Not that I was learning them.

Re slap kids, maybe it was just a different culture where I was before, but most bassists I knew in the south were more into good groove than slapping.

Maybe spend 2 minutes filling out your profile here so others can have some clue of where you are, your age, gear, etc etc etc.

This should probably be moved to Off-Topic since it has absolutely nothing to do with it's current location.

Of course you didn't say "hi" in your post either. Just said that you've been gone for a while.

So "hello".

My suggestion, if you want to gain some renown, would be to start a "Geddy is overrated" thread or some such...
