ok well, theres been some strange activity coming from my heart ,and some other places.im not totally sure what it is,and in fact it seems rather strange if you ask me(especially considering i saw a doctor months back about a similar problem, and he claimed that he found nothing wrong with me.)
and also im only 18 years old,so how am i already having heart problems? i just dont know, but im am going to try and explain it to you. ok,it only happens once in a while but i fear it is becoming worse over time, and seeing as that theres a major factor effecting it(or at least im sure it might be effecting)i guess i need to come clean.i am a moderatly frequent user of weed.and for the past month or so,i have been smoking it at least 1-2 times everyday.before that i would only do it once in a blue moon, but i started at 15 years old and never had problems until around may of this year.ok, the sypmtoms are almost that of a heart attack.i get pains in my left arm, sometimes in the right as well, and sometimes in the neck.and my heart sometimes hurts because of it,and sometimes it feels like its tense.last night i smoked again, and at first i felt fine.but then after a while my heart started racing like crazy, and it wouldnt stop for a long time,in fact i think it was like that until i fell asleep, which means a few hours.i thought i was going to have a heart attack though.but im still alive now arent i?.anyways i feel ok now.the only thing that is still bugging me is my left arm, which still has just a little discomfort in it.note;this thing only happens after i do it,not when i am sober(though sometimes i feel maybe only one of the symptoms for while afterword, much like the discomfort in my arm i just told you about)i dont really understand it.and i have no idea what it could be;but im guessing it might be something like acute coronary syndrome, due to the fact that the symptoms i felt, which were similar to that of the syndrome.but im not sure at all. if you can provide some advice or opinions on what you think might be going on then please be my guest.im just wondering what you guys think about it.thank you. |

But on a serious note - One thing that I would get checked out for is Mitral Valve Prolapse - it can cause a whole slew of oddball symptoms, many of which you describe. I had it since I was a kid and it can be a real hassle sometimes. I ended up having surgery to get in fixed back in April and I feel a lot better. It doesnt always require surgery though, it all depends on how severe it is.
You may also want to lay off the ganja, that aint helping

Oh, yeah...stop smoking the wacky stick. |

Look, if you're really worried about this then you need to get to a doc, there's no way around it. Looking up symptoms online is a bad thing to do and will lead you in a hundred different directions.
Make an appt, lay off the ganja and see what the doc has to say.

Dear Talkbass: I'm bleeding out of my eyeballs, ears, nose and mouth. Should I seek medical attention?
| The first thing I think of when dire medical emergencies arise is asking a bunch of anonymous musicians on the INTARWEB.

| | | | Have you had an EKG or echocardiogram done? You need to see a cardiologist ASAP. Weed will definitely speed up your heart rate and can give you palpitations (racing heart, feeling like your heart is skipping beats).

And the way you wrote your post doesn't help in getting answers, seriously.

Make an appt, lay off the ganja and see what the doc has to say. | well lets hope he doesnt say that im fine again. cause thats what im thinking the outcome will be
btw,my cousin actually had the same exact thing. which he also went to the doctor and he said that he was fine as well. and we dont go to the same doctor either. he somehow got past it saying that "i just smoked even more and built a tolerance to it." i dont think i can do that... |

You can't just say "oh ok" and walk away.
If he tells you "you're fine" what he's really telling you is that based on what you've told him, and based on what he's seeing at the moment, he doesn't see any particular physical cause for what you describe. That's all he's saying.
The fact is you're experiencing something. It can be some sort on anxiety thing, or it can be related to the smoking, or it can be some sort of heart thing that he's not able to notice with a cursory examination, or it can truly be nothing at all. You have to be up front with the guy and stick to your guns.
Lay off the weed though, you're smoking too much.

Then randomly i would get panic attacks and feel like im gona have a heart attack when i smoked. The panic attacks slowly got worse, I stopped smoking a few years ago and never had any heart problems.

See the doc, tell him your smoking the herb...he is a doctor, they don't judge they just want all the facts. If he still can't find anything wrong with you he will probably tell you to stop smoking. |
