So Long Texas, Hello Maryland!

Sign in to disble this ad
After being unemployed for the past 17 months, the last 8 of which were spent in Houston, I have FINALLY found employment...in Frederick, MD! We are so looking forward to cooler weather, seasonal changes, etc...and I'm hoping the music scene in DC is better than what was in Houston, which wasn't that bad...was a helluva lot better than Tampa anyway.

Welcome to Maryland! By the time you get settled in it'll feel just like Houston...

Congratulations!! I wish my end could have been more helpful, but our industry cratered shortly after your arrival. Best of luck.

Congrats man, all the best. I just hope it is in your field, not at McDonalds.

make sure you buy a house NOW before the market recoils, you'll make a bunch of dough in equity.

Congrats! Maryland, being a shore state, has some GREAT clubs close to the water. I'm originally from PA, and played in DE and MD frequently over the summer months. Not so sure about once you move away from the ocean and get in as far as Frederick, but I can say that Dewey beach Delaware, Ocean City Maryland , and surrounding areas have some awesome venues for live music. From a live band perspective, the club at Seacrets is essentially perfect. HUGE summer crowds (in the thousands), great stage and in-house FOH and monitor system, and great pay for established acts. Other than the travel, it was my club of choice!

Sorry you couldn't find any work here. I always meant to send a reply to your CL posts about setups. I'll have to take a raincheck now.

I wouldn't rush out and get your parka just yet.

I hadn't thought of this area having cooler weather, until I remembered my trip to Dallas one August...
