It lasted some 5 years now, so I can't complain. But now it's time to replace the battery. Unfortunately I'm having tough luck in finding a dutch based company that sells iPod 5G batteries. |

I recommend the iPod Touch but if you're looking for capacity more than features, than the iPod Classic is the way to go.
Unless of course you just want an iPod Nano, those are rather good too. Just not as big as the iPod Classic (both in the physical and the capacity sense)

Toughest part is opening up the iPod. The batteries I bought came with a worthless "tool" for that purpose, I ended up using a very thin metal paint scraper to wedge in the seam. It helps to wrap the iPod and the scraper in a towel so you do not gouge yourself if it slips.
I have revived a few older iPods with new batteries, it was worth it.

say thanks whenever you feel to XD. Really easy to install honestly, there are a couple of good guides on the internet (even on youtube). I've changed my iPod jack and it went well, without any trouble. The tools they give with the battery works really well.

Usually any of the batteries that you get will come with a pair of those little plastic "spudgers" to crack the case. Not a big deal at all.

I did this with my first gen nano last year. Cost $60. They essentially just replace it with a refurb of the same model. Not sure which model you have or if they take all models, etc, but could be worth an email to find out at least. |
