Crazy the things that can happen to you when you're walking through the parking lot of your own apartment complex...
My roommate, the drummer in my band, had just finished parking his car in our parking lot after getting back from breakfast with his parents and was walking towards our building, maybe 60 feet from the stairs, when this jackass in this big assed SUV came careening around the corner, busted straight through the gate (which our building is right next to and was still lying in a twisted mess in one of the parking spaces when I left for work this morning) and ran straight into my roommate. Apparently the impact with the gate slowed the sucker down, so luckily enough my roommate wasn't hit very hard, and all he got out of it was some bruises and some more irritation out of his back which was injured a few years ago in a car accident.
Needless to say, a settlement is in order for my dear friend sometime in the near future.

But I think it's highly unlikely as OB-GYNs don't normally have roommates who also happen to make up the bass and drums in a band together.
Neither have I ever heard of an OB-GYN who has a battle-cry of "MY HAMMER PWNS YOURS" before each assisting with each birth. But then again, if he's the only OB-GYN within 100 miles, you don't have much choice do you.

In my old apartment, the mailman seemed absolutely convinced I was an OB-GYN because he kept giving me OB-GYN Monthly and various other OB-GYN related publications. By the by, if you ever get one of these by accident, DO NOT look in them. That kind of stuff nobody with a penis should ever have to witness...
As for the driver's story, drunkenness was involved, and apparently he didn't live there, was on his way to meet his girlfriend or something who apparently DID live there, and is apparently by nature a very impatient guy, so he decided he was going where he was going to go whether the gate was there or not.
My poor roommate... We get up early on Mondays to go work out with a friend of ours, and this morning he tried, god bless him he tried, but he was so sore from the hit he could barely get out of bed. I hate to think what work will be like for him today (if he even goes)...

A couple of weeks ago, some complete bimbo of a woman ran her SUV into my friend's ground-floor appartment. Took out half of his fenced in patio, and the nearby siamese hookup for the building's natural gas. My buddy watched it all go down from across the street.
The kicker? The airhead got out of her Volvo, chatting on the phone saying "I think I hit someone's house"... WHILE TRYING TO LIGHT A CIGARETTE. Good thing someone walking by saw the whole thing and got her attention by running over to her, screaming "GAS LEAK!!!" and then promptly grabbing her phone and lighter from her hands, chucking them as far across the street as possible, and hauling Her Royal Dumbness away by the straps of her Louis Vuiton handbag.
