I leave the radio off to compensate.
Personally, I feel that all Rock and Pop stars should have to pass a test before being able to sell a single, or make a video. All they have to do is one single recording session without the aid of digital editing. If they can do it without making the record label bankrupt in billable recording hours they can get a "I don't suck" certificate. |

That will always suck. Anyone who is willing to explore on his/her own will be rewarded with good music in any given decade.

I've been a musician since 4th grade and have NEVER had trouble finding great new music. I was just viewing my last dozen or so playlists and more than half of the music I've been listening recently was written and recorded in this decade. Quote:

The 80s still sucked. |

95% of music in any time period will suck. But there is always that 5% that is worthwhile. No one arbitrarily-delineated ten-year period is better than any other.
And Duran Duran has created some brilliant tunes. Not all of their music has been great, but there are very few artists out there that have been around as long as they have who have put out consistently excellent material.
