So umm... It is election day.. eek!

NOT gonna start a political debate. Just wanted to say that it is my first time voting and im pretty excited for it. I just hope that all of my TB brethren who are old enough to vote will go out and exercise their right to vote. But if you don't, then its none of my concern. Im sure you have your reasons and i respect that. But to all of you that are 100% positive on who you are choosing, I hope you choose the candidate that is right for you. May the best man win

Wait ... it's today? Why hasn't there been anything on the news about it?

It's the first election I can vote in too. Without getting political, I wasn't sure if I wanted to bother or not, but then I realized that where I can really make a difference is in the local officials and ballot proposals.

If there's one message that I can throw out there it's to PLEASE VOTE today if you can. It's not "wasted", it's not "pointless", etc etc. It may seem like it, but it's not the case. Like pocketgroove says, it can make a difference in the local arena, there can be public issues on the ballot that one can vote for/against. Even simply who you vote for can make a statement - it's one of the few "voices" you have, don't waste it.

Yeah I voted last week. Oregon is vote by mail -- no polling places at all.

I miss the whole ritual of going to vote

A lot of people never even consider the importance of local elections when it comes to voting. My city council primary elections are decided by a few thousand voters, max. It is pathetic.

The polls have Obama winning until about 5 O'clock, until the Republicans get off work.

Thank God, having already voted two weeks ago I am completely sick of the advertisements and constant emails.

I did the early voting a week or so ago. It was my first time voting as well. I hadn't planned on voting originally, it's still like picking the prettiest turd to me, but I decided to because it is my voice, duty and responsibility as a citizen. Many, many men have died to give me that freedom, so who am I to forfeit my one voice in deciding our leadership? Plus, if ya don't vote, ya don't get to complain if the country starts heading in a direction you disagree with.

who here can prove it really matters these days?!!

decades ago,.. it mattered a whole lot more, IMHO. now everything seems like smoke & mirrors. my neighbor bores the crap out of me with his political views! so much time, money, and lives lost on politics & religion.

count me out,... i live in a cave,... deep in a forest,... good bye!

And those are the elections that might actually make a day-to-day difference in people's lives. Ironic.

Absolutely... Too many people thought that my right to vote was worth dieing for.. and others thought it was worth killing for to keep me from voting.. so I vote.

I no longer vote party.. I always vote the candidate.

I early voted.

Even if you don't really care for the POTUS vote, there are plenty of state and local issues that affect you way more than that would (bonds, city attorneys and judges, etc..). That's mostly why I vote.
