Yeah yeah this has been covered plenty of times, but I'm bored, curious and I know you guys never miss a chance to talk about yourselves. I work in a music store as a repair tech. The pay is meh, but its fun and better than flipping burgers.

I do the exact thing. However I play like six nights a week and the opportunities that come from being the music store guy work out lots too. The pay is crap.

I currently have an internship as an applications support specialist for a banking real estate company but am about to get by degree in MIS so I am looking to become a business analyst/software support guy somewhere. I'm basically going to be the bridge between the business people and the technical people and find ways to make things run more efficiently/get useful data to managers. I expect to occasionally program as well.

According to job statistics the average starting salary for MIS is pretty decent so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. And i'm hoping I don't get drug tested.. (occasional pot...the stuff just stays in your system for a longgg time)

I want to be in a band and do that for a living (i do not want a family, fancy car or a big house so i am not concerned about money much).
I want to study sound Engineering because i would like to be a producer whenever i am old, however i would also like to study Evolutionary Psychology and Psychological Neuroscience but i can not decide.
I still have two years..

As a former sound engineer and more or less professional musican, my advice is to stick with the psychology. Unless you're a super competitive A-type you're likely to sink rather than swim. But if you ever find A&R knocking on your door take it, or you'll never live it down.

I run a district network of 2000 users 800 pcs and 10 servers,
Currently nuking a server because some asshat user put a virus on one of our shares and it's spreading like Paris Hilton's legs.

I also do some consulting work...

[respectfully nods/tips drink, depending upon what time of day you read this]

Edit: Oh, man- I only just looked at the vid(I thought you were saluting ). That's pretty accurate, though my youngest is now 4 & the difficulties are more in the form of uppitiness & hard to answer questions. I do like Winnie the Pooh, though.

I lost my good job at a well known insurance company 8 years ago due to reorganizations and I could not relocate to another state at the time. It is very difficult to find any work where I live even with an M.B.A. and lots of experience because they think I am over qualified (which is another way to say we don't want to pay you what you are worth). Since then, 80% - 90% of my income has been from being a professional musician and the remainder is that I have a small marketing, advertising, concert, and event management consulting business but the work regionally is sparse and does not pay much after my expenses and taxes.

I work construction as a Mason's assistant. Construction is very slow, so I signed up for UI for the first time in my life. Don't really need the money, but everyone is nagging me to do it. I've always come from the school of "no work - no pay".

I rock by day and rawk by night laying the foundation for all goode things to sit on! (sic)
