too many people, not enough power plants! Our infrastructure is so out of date and overloaded, yet our country doesn't have the money to update it

That's why you don't live there.

That and Ryan Seacrest.

I tried emailing the juice from my tough solar watch but I couldn't find a USB port. I should have upgraded to the 3-D HD model.

We have power outages from time to time too but they usually happen in very cold winter times.

I'm glad I sprung for the backup power for my server. At least I've got TB in time of need. Although I did make tortellini aglia e olio for dinner by flashlight (my stove is gas).

HEY! It's not my fault all your power plants are being chopped up and used for biodiesel in the midwest! Still better than corn, I suppose.

Do we know the cause of the outage or are we just speculating?

Sorry, bulk electrical transmission is my day job.

The news said it *wasn't* a terrorist attack, so we can all relax.

Actually, burning our waste is. Garbage incineration is a great way to produce extra electricity and it is much cleaner than burning coal, which is how a good chunk of the US still produces the majority of their electricity. Not to mention that coal fired incinerators can be retrofitted to burn waste. It also solves much of the landfill problem faced by large cities.
