Garbage incineration is a great way to produce extra electricity and it is much cleaner than burning coal, which is how a good chunk of the US still produces the majority of their electricity. Not to mention that coal fired incinerators can be retrofitted to burn waste. It also solves much of the landfill problem faced by large cities.
