what are some good vintage looking scooters out there? I want something that will be the toyota of scooters. last long and durable. but I don't want to spend more than $1500. I like the look of the schwinn laguna and stellas. any ideas?

I saw an awesome one 2 years ago and never wrote down what it was.

a rack or a basket or something to haul the beer.
Then there is the gig back strapped on my back, a shuttle
and a 1 x12 neo cab option I'm interested in.

I had bought a 1993 razz for my stepson 2 years ago when he was 15.. he drove it all over town, never had problems. I had bought it used for $600, still have it and could probably sell it for $400 - $500.

My problem is whenever I go somewhere, I usually have to haul a lot more than I could carry on a scooter My friends electric 4X4 goes about 55mph and can run for hours!! That would be perfect for my needs but I need to go on the streets!! |

I saw one of those and thought it looked pretty cool.

However, we're saving up the down payment on two Harleys. I like these: http://www.cowboyharleyaustin.com/pre_owned_list.asp. http://www.cowboyharleyaustin.com/pre_owned_list.asp
I just don't feel very safe on a scooter. They don't go fast enough to keep up with traffic on the roads we travel most. If I rode a scooter down Nameless Road and onto FM 1431, I'd get run off the road, or killed. With a bike, I can keep up in traffic, and still use less gas than in the car or the truck. And, since so very many of our friends and fans are bikers, I'd like to be able to go riding with them. On a scooter, I could never do that...there's that whole "keeping up" thing again. Just wouldn't be very practical for me.
Good luck finding the right vehicle! I still think Vespas are the coolest-looking scooters around.

| Actually, last year in Finland I saw people driving around on quads in the middle of the city. The quads all had little license plates on the back. I've never noticed this before, so I don't know if it's something new. We really should be able to register them in the US. I'd much rather drive a quad than a car.

Always ask these kids why they don't just wait and get a car, they don't care just impulsive.
If you get one get a four stroke 110cc you have the power and the fact you won't sound like some stupid bee on wheels. |

Of course they are a bit silly, since you might as well get a 50cc scooter and drive it on bicycle lanes.
Talking of which, they sell a lot of cheap chinese gas scooters around here, and while they are said to be POS I don't recall anyone saying that they've actually had major problems with 'em. Of course brand name stuff like Yamaha or Honda is going to be most reliable, check your 2nd hand market for these.

I ride on a quad all the time for work. They should not be allowed on the road. The average idiot will flip that thing. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
