Some days are better than others...

So I got up early this morning (hey any time before 7 am is early in my book) to play at a church. It was a paying gig, certainly not going to turn such a thing down in this current fiscal climate.

Walk outside my house, window of my car was bashed in. Insert about forty five seconds of non-stop cursing here. Must've been some idiot kid or junkie or something. He broke the window, proceeded to try and jack the car by ramming a screwdriver into the ignition. Maybe I don't know enough about stealing cars but that just seems really stupid.

Regardless of intelligence, he obviously gave up at some point, ignored the stereo, rifled through my glove box (ignoring the two uncashed checks i had in there), passed over the center console with my $120 ray-bans, then popped the trunk and stole my bass amp (Phil Jones Bass Suitcase for those interested). At the very least, he left my bass. For some unknown reason, he reached right over my Lakland Skyline JO and grabbed my amp. I don't understand it, but i'm not complaining...well I am complaining but I am happy I still have my number one bass.

Lessons learned: Never leave your gear in your car, some people are too stupid to live.

Wow. Sorry to hear about that. That sucks. But yeah you're right, an amp is more easily replaced than a bass.

Sorry to hear about that. Maybe the Lord was watching over your important gear so it could be used a short while later at church.

Cars are not lockers. A lot of people learned that at college first semester.

Sorry to hear about the down luck. Hopefully the amp will turn up at a pawnshop or the like in a few days.

Or anything else valuable. Stupidity should be painful, and this time it was.
