Some positive news, and a thank you

Sign in to disble this ad
About six months ago this forum helped me greatly through putting my dog, Shadow, to sleep. I'd had her over fourteen years and I received a lot of support, stories and advice through Talkbass, so I've got good news this time and thought I'd share.

This is Onyx. He's about three years old, a lab-something-something mix, and we just adopted him. This is him finding out that Kong frisbees aren't easy to shred, in a field behind my mother-in-law's house in Kansas City, where we picked him up. He had his shots and some tests run this morning (worm-free!) so we took out toy shopping and he picked the frisbee.

Tomorrow we're starting the twenty-two hour drive back to Phoenix, so that will be interesting.

We just wanted to say thank you for the support, and that this is one of the greatest forums ever.

Nice. he's part Husky! The blue eye is the giveaway. I had a dog that was part Shepard and part husky and had the same one blue eye/one brown eye thing. She got hit by a car at the ex's house I miss maggie a lot...

Good luck with Onyx!

Quite likely, but Heterochromia can happen in many/most species, family friends have a Dalmation with the blue & brown eye combo

Knuckle, congrats on the new dog, a real beaut! And good on you for doing the right thing and giving it another chance

I was going to guess more likely Catahoula...Calahouna..Cana hoota..dangit! You know! Those Louisiana hunting dogs. They call them Leopard Dogs. His head's shaped more like one of them than a Husky.
