Something Good Happened to me Today

Is it just me, or has there been a lot of bad news coming through OT lately?

I say: fudge that noise! Good stuff happens to us every day; we just have to take the time to stop and notice it.

In the car this morning, my 4 y/o requested Tower of Power "Daddy, play the happy horns."

What happened to you today that was good?

I got up at 4:30 for work!!

No, really. I'm not being sarcastic; it's a good thing to have a job that I enjoy, and even better to be done with work around noon!

Good for you, dude. Man, I guess I should stop whining about getting up at 5:30

I woke up next to the most beautiful woman in the world and I get to every day.

I get up at 6am every day, out of the house by 7 to be at school for 8.

Watched the local Rugby team secure a place in the quarter final of the Heineken Cup (big european tournament) last night. Was at the game with some good mates and had an awesome post-game party

We've all got problems, some days I'm just grateful to be alive. No really, my ex-wife could have killed me.

I went downstairs to make my Americano this morning. I noticed the smell of freshly ground beans, and sure enough some were ready and waiting for me. My wife did it, yay for her. Sure, not a big deal, but I like to build on little moments like this.

Good idea for a thread by the way. Thank you.

Hosting a 30-person meeting tomorrow - not my favorite thing.

But was smart enough to sit down yesterday and work out my to-do list for that meeting, so I can knock off all the items and be ready. Nice to have that ready!

My girlfriend made me a cake yesterday for no apparent reason.
She rarely cooks and bakes even less, even though she's great at both, so it was a good day!

My son was very upset this morning. He said he was tired and didn't want to go to school. He just wanted to stay at home and do nothing.

I picked him up and held him for about a minute. When I put him down he got ready and never mentioned it again.

He's great to hug. He just melts into you.

Well, my women's literature class is comprised of myself, three other dudes, and about thirty of the most beautiful girls my campus has to offer. Now that's the kind of math I like!!

I'm going to interpret this as meaning you are free of desire.

Congrats! You're on your way to enlightenment and liberation!

That's beautiful man

This morning I am on almost no sleep, and there were no customers when I came in to work today. Often there is a line developing before we open up. That's all I got...

I often consider myself fairly enlightened, though I am not above the trappings of everyday life.
Free from desire, right now, I am not.

I woke up sandwiched between a small furry buzzing kitten and the most beautiful woman in the world.

She then brought me a fried egg sandwich and coffee while I was in the middle of a phone conference with work.

When that was over, I got to hang out on the couch with her and a puppy.

Thankyou, universe.

Last I heard, you have resolved to work hard to preserve something you cherish. That's pretty special. Perspective!

What are you doing in my bed?

Well, I tell my wife she's the most beautiful woman in the world...and she is, even of its my own little world....

And right now the house is silent except for the sound of my 7 month old daughter, Andecy, cooing as she has lunch in my arms...
