It used to happen to me all the time, but less so as I've gotten older. It could be, though, I just don't know it's happening because these days once I'm asleep I'm ASLEEP. I have apnea from time to time as well.

The only hallucination I've had in the sleep paralysis state was an auditory one. There was a woman whispering in my left ear. I don't remember what she said but it really creeped me out.

Is it possible to crap your Jammies during sleep paralysis, cuz if it ever happened to me I'm pretty sure that's what I'd do.

I've had it happen once.

Kinda hope it doesn't happen again any time soon!

I get that one occasionally, usually when waking from a really light sleep.

I get the electrical jolt thing from time to time too. But it doesn't hurt or anything. Just feels real freaky. With an almost audible brrrrrrzzzzzzzztttt.

+infinity Sleep paralysis

It's associated with various sleep disorders. Basically, you become conscious while your nervous system is flooded with acetylcoline (spelled wrong). So- your body chemistry has your motor functions paralyzed, but your eyes and eyelids still function properly.

I am bipolar, which is a sleep disorder, and I get this at least once a week. You can't move. You feel like you're in a coma. You can barely mumble out for help, and if you come to and don't immediately get out of bed, you slip back into that cycle. I've had it go on for several hours. It takes some getting used to.

Fun facts!

This is also associated with demonic possession and alien abduction. Some people wake up paralyzed, but half dreaming, and they feel like they are floating and/or being dragged, but they are still in a semi-dream state, so they see what they want to see.

Love aliens? Cool. You feel like you got beamed up into whatever. You believe in demonic possession? Great. You dream devils in a half-lucid state.

I personally get this very, very often. It's because of my brain chemistry and because of the medications I take. It sucks, but you WILL get used to it. I hope you don't have to though.

If you wanna talk more about this and how to manage your life around such imbalances, go ahead and PM me. Either I help you out or you think I'm full of ****. It's worth your time to figure out what's what. I have have dealt with this for years.

I sincerely hope this does not become a frequent occurrence for you. I've been forced to make the best of it all. If you aren't on any medications, see your doctor. If you are on medications, see your doctor.
