Guess what?....that's a fake...it was proven by MythBusters, look for the MB vid on Youtube.

The Graphics are slightly different on the RC Plane that loses the wing and lands. (look closer)

Nice try though

Interesting. Although I don't see where they prove it's fake. Just that the Mythbusters should take it on. Text from the poster reads.

This is what appears to be a miraculous landing with a one winged light aircraft. Or is it. Perhaps the Mythbusters can settle this seemingly scientific achievement as real or fake.

Look at the Graphics on the plane at the beginning, and the plane at the end, the detail above the orange stripe.

Ask a pilot...it's just not possible....

It can be done with RC because the engine can get it to hover like that because of the power to weight ratio....that's not the episode, that's just the viewer challenging them to

I can assure you I've seen the epi on TV, and it was proven as fake.

Yep. I'm not denying it could be fake, although i totally thought it was real.
I just haven't read anything that confirms for sure.

Looks totally fake.

The camera is in focus the entire time, except the very moment the plane touches the ground and bounces funny. Why would it go out of focus right then? And..look at the shadows under the plane as it lands.

^^ Plus the pilot head doesn't even move upon landing like a human head would pivoting on his neck....then like I said, the obvious graphics mistake

I'm still searching...but that's actually one of my fave episodes.

Snopes says false. I've seen other debunkings, too.

I'd love for it to be real but I think the bounce gives it away a bit, here's a similarish landing bounce with a RC?

YouTube - ‪3D RC plane landing with only one wing.‬‏

I was sold on this one initially the first few viewings, v.well done.

It was an ad trick to promote Killathrill....no mainstream media would touch it, and if it had been real, they all would have...because it would have been one of the most miraculous landings in aviation history, yet it only made it to youtube and MB.

Here is Aviators discussing it

Also other than the original sales plug interview, the pilot won't return calls for interviews....that in itself speaks volumes.

Every Aviator enthusiast would want to hear his words...plus what pilot wouldn't want to be hailed as one of the best there is or ever will be? and be forever entered in all aviation book that would follow this event?

The guys a stunt pilot, obviously he likes to be the center of attention....but now that he's been found as a fake, he's in hiding.
