Yeah, she's not the brightest bulb around. Of course, the movie-chain owner's threat may be meaningless, don't her flicks go straight to video these days, anyway?

Her best work was the 1.2 seconds she took to cross her legs.

+1 on OP's thread title.

Sharon, please... stay on book. If it's not written for you by a skilled writer but you still feel the need to improvise, go physical OK? Bend over - uncross legs - smile seductively - but please, no words...

I know I would. I ain't picky.

Why do celebrities feel the need to share their politics with everyone? I'll never understand.

I don't have a problem with anyone discussing their views, I just wish that people overall would use more discretion.

See, I'm cool with that too. It's just that the loudest people seem to be the people who have no clue what they're talking about.

and i'm not in anyway trying to argue with you or anyone else on this issue, but don't you think that celebrities just have "the voice" to say things because of who they are and what type of attention the media decides to give them?

i truly believe without this "voice", we wouldn't have even known she said this.

and yes, i'd hit it. twice.

I don't see how this is offending some of you. I see Karma mentioned many times a day on here, yet when someone ties karma to a natural disaster you get all upset about it? If you believe that karma affects people on a day to day bases, then it almost certainly has to affect nations that said people are in charge of.

I don't think karma is supposed to work that way. YOU do something, karma is supposed to treat YOU accordingly. So if YOU are the leader of a country and you are acting badly, you, the leader, would be the recipient of karmic retribution - not the people you rule over. If karma were at the root of this disaster it would have only impacted those responsible for the persecution and spared the poor people who had nothing to do with it.

But beyond that, if I am not mistaken, karma doesn't even work like that at all. It's your next lives that are impacted - I think...

Regardless - Sharon Stone's comments were indicative of her own ignorance in general - of which there seems to be no limit.

Not nice? Like making light of the fact that nearly 70,000 people who have no control over their government's policy just died?

Of course. This country's obsession with celebrity has only been magnified with the advent of constant information outlets (24 hour cable news, the internet etc) and so aspects of these people's lives with no connection to why they are famous are now media fodder, including whatever political views they choose to espouse. And there's a perverse little feedback loop whereby when celebrities are continually asked about their views, they (largely incorrectly) assume that they must have validity which gives them the idea that they should speak out more.

There is of course a small number of celebrities (often stand up comedians) who have done their due diligence and impress me with their political knowledge whether I agree with them or not. Sharon Stone is not among them.

I am not trying to start any more fighting than there is with the karma thing, but how many of ya'll have communicated with modern china's people. They are (as a majority) EXTREMELY SUPPORTIVE of China and it's government and policies. Just remember that most are not feeling oppressed or against their government and leaders.
