Scared me good to hear what sounded like two bombs go off in my neighborhood. Ended up just being a couple fighter jets taking off from Portland to protect the president........ Sonic booms rock Puget Sound-area.

Nevermind...carry on....

Also hear it from time to time around here when they're out over the Gulf of Mexico.

Kinda sad we didn't hear the Sonic Booms up here. Never heard one in person before.

It shook the ground where I saw standing and the vibrations went through my body up to my head. At the time, it was scary. I for sure thought someone dropped a bomb nearby or blew up something.
I live 30 minutes from an army and air force base. We have night time artillery firing monthly that rattles our windows when they get the big guns out for practice. The booms today were louder and more intense than anything else I have heard or felt.

The mirror in my parents bathroom is still broken from some years back. I only recall once ever hearing a sonic boom hear though.
I remember the distinct howl of a jet passing over and then a loud resonating crack as it seemed like the doors in our house were going to flex out of the frame. As soon as I heard it I knew what it was because I had never heard a sound out on base. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
