That's terrible news. It's tragic that someone with such a successful life would end it with suicide.

So sad to hear. Rest in peace Mr. Cornelius. Your show was a major influence on my musical life. Thanks so much for that!

RIP. If he had a stroke and was really looking at a loss of any quality of life I'd have a hard time blaming him.

Influential? Yes, I'd say so. Look at the link of guests....

Tragic...I'd love to see a DVD of which just the dancers doing the Soul Train line throughout the years, that would be fantastic!

why is it "sad" when someone kills themselves?
Obviously, the deceased got what they wanted, shouldn't you be happy
that they accomplished their goal?

I read that Don was going to have to have Brain Surgery, he apparently
didn't want that.

Have you done anything you regretted? You know, you thought it was a good idea at the time but later realized you didn't actually want to do it.

Person is dead, it's sad.

Actually, I felt this way after Hunter S Thompson offed himself.
In conversation with some friends I had said something to the effect that I respect him making his decision to end his life and following through with it.
That backfired on me big time, though, when I got a call from a friend months later asking me if I was serious about what I had said.
Though I was, I had to deny it to prevent him from swallowing a crap load of sleeping pills.
