Lightbulb Spanky's Moving to LA! Anyone need a roommate? :)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I'm transferring to California State University in Northridge in the fall, and I'm looking for a place near campus to nestle for the semester. If anyone needs (or could manage to take in) a roommate, please let me know. Of course, I'll pay my share of rent and what not, so I'm not looking to crash on your couch for 6 months, mooching off your place of residence.

I know that many of you guys live in or around LA, so if you know of another space that'd be available, let me know.

Hey man, congrats! My oldest and closest friend goes to CSUN, and my other best friend is going to go next year as well! Enjoy the campus man, and enjoy living. My buddy lives at home (We live in nearby Glendale).

Sadly, I'll be out in San Diego next school year, but CSUN starts in August and I'm not gone 'til September, so I'll have to give you a PM once you get here to show you around LA/Hollywood and what not.

Welcome to The Valley. My wife and I used to live on Dearborn Street right next to CSUN.

Avoid the Chinese buffet there on Reseda Blvd. . But definitely check out King's Mongolian BBQ 3 blocks North of there.

PS. Wait 'til you see how much stuff costs here!

I've heard about the cost of living! I'm getting a second or third job this summer to sustain me until I can find a job there (hopefully).

Either way, it's still scaring me how many people are warning me about that.

Cost is a major factor in Los Angeles. My first apartment was in Hollywood, seventeen years ago. I now live just outside of Washington DC (another expensive area) and my rent here, seventeen years later, is only $50 a month more than that first apartment back in Hollywood.
Good luck.

I know you secretly wish I moved closer to you.

Yeah, I wouldn't be much help at this distance.

I was considering a few law schools in SoCal, but I've decided upon Santa Clara, so I'm not leaving the Bay Area (yet).

Spanky... you absolutely sure you HAVE to live out here? L.A. is so filthy.. I avoid going up 'to the city' at all costs. "Dog-eat-dog" is just too mild for whats in store for you bro. MAJOR, hard-core bangers live all around that area all peddling death in little plastic bags. You'd be better off in Orange County if you insist on living in Socal. There ARE other campuses.

+1. CSUN isn't all that bad though. But it's definitely not great. A better Cal State school is Long Beach or San Diego.

Or even better... anything NORTH of SoCal.

You're just bitter because we steal your water and have real Mexican food.

I'm Chicano. I'm not missing out on ANY real Mexican food.

Sure, there aren't as many of us up here as there are in L.A., but believe me, there's plenty of real Mexican food to go around.

Now, the water is another matter.
