Sign in to disble this ad
I have some spare hosting space and a spare domain which is registered for around 10 years. I'm just wondering if I could turn it into some kind of bass related site; to make it actually useful to someone. It's not a bass related domain, but it is quite generic.
Possibly some kind of database of different settings for pedals etc. Such as how to achieve certain famous tones etc. Hopefully community orientated.
Anyone got any more suggestions?

ventrillo/ skype audio/video chat, moodle type classes and such taught by volunteers.
I don't know you can do alot of stuff to websites.
the sky is the limit really, it all depends on your time and the time of the people willing to help you.

Hard facts, specs, and general information with maybe a comments section? Then for every gear page there could be like videos, clips and demos for the it and stuff. I have zero experience in web design, hosting, or anything of the sort so sorry if my ideas seem a little ambitious .

like what does a sadowski jazz + markbass LMII + Angular cab + vt bass sound like.

Look at my profile and you should see my lack of equipment (and money!). As I said; I'd like it to be a community driven site.
Would anyone be able to contribute some content? For the things that Kwesi said, or similar.
Thanks for the quick responses.

Thanks for the quick responses. | If you establish the site, I can put on a lot of content no problem. I can also assist with techie stuff as needed. Shoot me a PM to discuss if you want... |

But yeah, I've been toying with the idea of hooking up with one of my web designer friends to make this happen but I don't think I'd actually do anything with it. If I had to sum it up with would be a combination of Harmony Central and Basstasters (with more than just bass).

Edit: May I steal the word 'databass'? | sure. Go forth and share my pun with the bass playing world !
Also, I'd like to volunteer as head gear tester. Just send all gear to me for testing and you'll get it back sometime in the future...
...depending on how much I like it .

when i first discovered bassfuzz.com, i thought it was too good to be true- finally i can look into a fuzz without having to make a trip to plug into it.
then i saw that hes just a regular guy, who reviews the pedals he happens to get.
it could just be genneral reviews of equiptment.. basses, amps, cabs, any/all pedals. i'd dig that. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
