Spiders scare the hell outta me

Aye it's a phobia and the tiny ones that are easily crushed under thumb don't bother me, neither do pictures. Spiders in movies creep me out (not in comedies like 8 Legged Freaks mind you) and spiders in fish tanks at the pet stores kinds make me uncomfortable. And then you have this baby, about 4-5" across, waiting for me in the shower this morning. Yeah, I freaked out and after taking this picture killed it with bug spray. Not a pretty death but now I have to fumigate the whole house. Did I yelp when I saw it? damn straight I did, and it'll happen again some day.

I am so glad that we dont get things like that in this country, the jumping ones freak me out enough *shudder*

I know EXACTLY how you feel, and i probably wouldn't even be able to take a picture, let alone kill it and dispose of it.

coiled string? that's a 2" thick rope! j/k i'm a hairy bastage, not sure that can be used for scale as it makes the spider look bigger that it was. i have large (but not extra large) hands, the spider's legs would have covered my palm.

Spiders eat bugs. Most are harmless. Take a testosterone pill.

Baby. Just smash it next time with the nearest shoe. You're bigger than it is.

Next time, follow sound advice and batter it with a shoe if it bothers you so much! Or wash it down the plug hole!

I got bitten by a brown recluse around 18 years ago. It left a hole in my leg, leaking brown/black goop, big enough to fit the entire head of a Q-Tip into, with enough room that it wouldn't be touching flesh on any side.

I still bear that scar.

that picture creeps me out...must have been one of those water spiders (not joking)

when i was 10 i went to a friends house to go swimming, and one of those things was stuck to the drain at the bottom of the pool. His mom got the net, and fished it out...and it was alive....i think i went up a tree when it came crawling out....ugh!!

spiders bigger than 3mm creep me out....unless they are on a web somewhere....somehow i can relate that its not going to jump across the yard and eat my face off, so i tend to look at them, or shoot them with plastic bb's....what fun!
