I watched it last night. It's received a bunch of negative reviews but i thought it was a neat flick. Anyone else watch it yet?

I'm a huge fan of Will Eisner the great comics illustrator who brought this character to life. I got hooked on the Spirit whenever I could come across reprints of the strip. I guess I'll see the movie, but scince the character isn't well known by most folks outside of vintage comic strip geekdom, I'm a bit concerned how the movie version of the character is going to be.

+1 Coulda used more fight scenes. I thought it was way too comic book-ish! Was expecting a bit more seriousness. It put my brother to sleep. He was actually snoring in the movie theater. Had to elbow him a few times.

The movie was adapted and directed by Frank Miller (Frank is a very talented Comic book creator in his own right Return of the Dark Knight, Sin City, Robo-Cop in the early days) So in essence the film is a Fan Boy project as Frank is a big fan of Will Eisner. The Movie is great for what it is......a fan boy tribute to Will Eisner....It was no worse than the Shadow, or the Phantom which were also Fan boy tribute to the creators.....

If you like the character go see the movie

I enjoyed both The Phantom and The Shadow, but I'm old enough to go back to early Mad Magazine and 10 cent comic book days. I'm looking forward to The Spirit.

But I also listen to old Shadow, Green Hornet and other radio programs from the 30's and 40's!
