Exactly. The fact that the treatment in the two armies is totally opposite is pretty weird. Say nothing of the American policy in the first place.

I mean, you want to go fight and die for your country, awesome! Oh, but you're gay... sorry. Weird.

Thank you for posting this thread, which isn't political at all, and will most certainly result in a lively discussion

To open the debate I submit a quote from Sir Gareth Keenan of the British Office (which overall is pretty crappy compared to the American Office, but I digress):

"That's one of the major arguments against letting homosexuals into the army. Will they be looking at the enemy, or will they be looking at me, going 'Oooooh, he looks tasty in his uniform'?"

Generally when one is under gun fire and mortar attacks, the mind usually focuses on that, I would think

Not only that, just because they're gay doesn't mean they're checking every male out. Do you guys check out every female you walk by? Life is life and a job is a job and sexual orientation does not impair anyone to do their jobs.

yeah its bull... the daily show with john stewart (not sure if anyone out side of america knows of this show.) had something on it like a year ago... there was this gay code breaker guy (not sure what the word is for the secret message decoding people or whatever.) who got removed because he was gay and he would be distracted by his co-workers... well they had a guy dancing around right next to him in inappropriate fashion and it wasn't until the dancing man removed his shirt and pants that the guy even looked up...

hmm?

Oh, sorry, I wasn't trying to troll, I thought this was the right forum. I didn't see the no politics rules. All the gun threads lead me to believe that this was the forum for that.

The issue is highly political, no doubt!

I don't think there's a good logic argument that can explain it though.
