And "square peg, round hole" may indicate that the flying horse lizards have a severe reproductive dysfunction. That would explain why they're endangered.

I think the only real error there is that Dragons are extinct, not endangered. Unless, of course, there are still a few sequestered in uncharted parts of the British Empire.
