Squier Custom Shop?

I am now convinced that such a place does exist.

The Squier Custom Shop.

Exhibit A)

This is not a modified Squier. It was born this way.

Any thoughts?

What is custom about it? The colored strings?

There is nothing special about it, it's probably a Squier John 5 signature name...

Exhibit B:

They do many signature names, john 5, avril lavigne, pete wentz...

As said the John 5 , the special , etc. They do many small runs of stuff time to time. if you are a middle level artist I am sure they will build you something a little special if you ask.

I always though John5 as just MM's guitarist. Few weeks ago I saw a youtube link saying "new song from John5's new album". I though "was this guy talented enough to make a new album?".

Oh yes, he is, he is surprisingly a lot more talented than I though. He's got some nice "Spanish chops" under his belt too. I felt embarrassed.

I ended up getting a Parker P36 - (MIK!)

The J5 Squier had some pretty mixed reviews.

Yeah, I guess John 5 also played guitar for Rob Zombie. Love his stage makeup!

John 5 is a total badass on guitar. And he has been around for a lot longer than most of us realize. He played in David Lee Roth's band after Vai left.
His tele headstock is shaped that way because he does a lot of behind-the-nut bends.
Any of his solo stuff is miles better than anything he did with Manson.

I really like him to.
When you listen to interviews of him it makes you realize that for him it was really a session thing! He never really had a good relationship with manson and it was really more a job than a band he loved...

Probably in the same way most of us would go on a world tour for lady gaga or justien bieber even though their music is ear bleeding bad!

His guitar collection is also completely insane! Literally hundreds of thousands of dollars of vintage Tele's...

He has serious GAS.

Thanks carlos840 - yes, that man has GAS to the extreme! Holy Smokes!

He also is far from "middle-level" artist. I watched a few videos and this guy not only seems like a stand up man, but a true master and enthusiast.

I think he might approve of my first guitar:

My Parker P36

It has the "tele vibe" going on with the p/u's and control plate.

The headstock is quite a shift, however:

Straight pull strings on a scarfed neck. PRS inspired?

I lucked out and got a Made in Korea.

- and trust me, my bass brothers, guitar is EASY to play. I've been playing for 3 days total and I can already sound like David Gilmour, Eddie Van Halen, and, the hardest to nail down so far: Syd Barrett. Yes, I've got my Zippo lighter.
