ive heard even with local anesthetic its not very fun, and thats coming from folks poking around for veins, so, best of luck in your recovery. if it helps, i dont know anyone who had that procedure done with unsatisfactory results. |

I wore them anyway, shut my mouth about it, got some crazy blisters on my heels, let them get infected, and suffered for over a week until the senior drill instructor asked what the **** was wrong with my feet. They took me to sick bay and diagnosed me with a staph infection. Then my senior DI went down to where they gave me the boots and ripped someone a new one. I sat in bed for a few days and took drugs until I was able to put on boots and march again. Fun times I tell ya.

He was on his farm driving a ATV when one side of the road kinda sloped downwards and his wheel caught it and jerked him into a steel fence with the ATV on him. His ribcage was crushed. I would venture to guess that one of his lungs were punctured too. A hearts specialist was called in from somewhere in the country. Anyways, they later found he had staph and they were trying all kinds of anti-bacterial medication. They were on the last one they could give him and if that didn't work they could only give him pain medication. It worked and now he is stuck in debt from the helicopter ride and the medical bill for the rest of his life.

They were considered such a common skin affliction we didn't bother going to the doctor... dad would just lance the boil with a razor blade and dig the "core" out apply iodine and bandage.
Totally sucked when you'd get one forming on you and know what was gonna have to happen in a few days when it came to a head... but... that is back when "take it like a man" actually meant something!
I remember having three of them at once all about 2 inches apart on my thigh...
Seem to remember reading that staph is making a comeback due to germs/bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics... big problem in the hospitals post surgery.
Sorry man... total bummer...
Oh yeah... please NO pics... those suckers were/are gross looking! |

it doesn't look as bad as you may think, but the ball of carp was about the size of a golfball:
