Question Star Trek buffs

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello. We are trying to get through as much of the Star Trek series as we can before the movie. What episodes do we really have to watch out of each season?

http://trekguide.com/tos1.htm

A list of them would be great. We've watched 1-8 from season 1. That's it.

+1 to those above.

Mirror, Mirror - The episode that inspired the band name "Spock's Beard."
City on the Edge of Forever - McCoy goes nuts, and Joan Collins was pretty hot when she was young.
Amok Time - Spock experiences rutting... How can it not be a classic?
All Our Yesterdays - Not because it's a good episode (I actually don't like it that much), but because it's the one with Atoz.
The Trouble with Tribbles - Kirk and Spock do comedy. Everyone needs to see this one at least once.
Space Seed - KHAN!
The Gamesters of Triskelion - 40 quatloos on the newcomer, and Angelique Pettyjohn in a skimpy costume.

Yeah, but oddly one of the few times I'd not care whether the carpet matched the drapes...

Fully agree, but Shatner just had more charisma IMO

True. Tho this may be sacriledge, for sheer entertainment, I prefer the Next Generation shows better. But for pure detatchment and quality campiness, the OS cannot be beat.

There is no sacrilege in better acting.

I, too, prefer Next Gen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBs5GeXhp70&fmt=18

Shatner had the swagger you'd expect from a swashbuckling intergalactic space captain.

Episode Title: "THE DOOMSDAY MACHINE"
Production Number: 35
Original Air Date: 10-20-67

The ending has me at the edge of my seat every time I watch it. And, that's probably been 50 times!

The visual effects were horrible. But the acting was so good you don't need effects. That's the big difference between Sci-Fi in the 60s when compared to today.

Gotta watch "Shore Leave". Some classic Trek there. And +1,000 for "Amok Time".

I can't decide between the original and TNG. It depends on what mood I'm in. Both series have some weak episodes.

I'm a TNG fan. But in order to be a good Trekkie, you just have to watch them all!

(I hate DS9, but Voyager was OK.)

Actually, a buddy of mine does a weekly screening of TNG episodes at his place. Myself, his B-I-L, my sister and him usually watch 2 episodes every Wednesday. Anytime Worf looks annoyed, take a drink. Anytime Riker puts his foot up on Data's console, take a drink. Anytime Picard says "engage", take a drink, etc...
