Well, it actually tastes pretty good. I was surprised.
Basically I've heard about this a bunch of times, its a full body detox and it also helps you lose weight. I'm more interested in it cleaning out my body and energizing me though.
I've heard people who do this for 40 days (thats right, 40). I'm going for 10-14... hopefully 14, but at least 10 !
Anybody else try this ?

I don't know why you think there is carbonation in a recipe you make yourself, it's even called the "Lemonade" diet, lol. For those too lazy to google it, its basically a full body detox cleans all the krud out of your system including some fat. It energizes you, and makes you feel better. You drink this, and ONLY this, for 2-40 days. I'm going for 14.
Recipe.
12 oz water
2 Tbl spoons Lemon juice
2 Tbl spoons Grade B maple syrup (Specifically grade B, not nearly as sweet)
1-2 pinches of cayenne pepper (yup... Cayenne pepper)
It actually tasted pretty good. But lets see what it does to me.

| | | Interesting- keep us informed as to how it goes. For anybody else interested, here is a website that I found that is pretty detailed....
I've done a 5 day fast with nothing but water before- you do feel great at the end, but apparently the lemonade diet is meant to be a cleansing thing. I might give it a shot this summer when I have some time off. |

BTW: I'm not sure about Scotland, but I know that in NZ they use the term lemonade to describe drinks like Sprite and 7-Up |

And it would be better if you cut out the syrup, the rest is pretty good, especially Cayenne as a thermogenic, dont think a couple pinches would be enough tho.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how it develops and hopefully it'll make me feel better... Been really run down, eating REALLY poorly when I even get a chance to have a meal that isn't in my car. So its definitely worth a shot. Although it seems im going to run out of syrup often.
Here's a gallon recipe so you can make a days at a time. Its rough estimates but it should be cool.
* the juice of 5 lemons
* 1 1/4 cup of organic Grade B maple syrup
* 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
* 10 cups of water

I've done the master cleanse, for a bit over a week, and did in fact feel lighter and more energetic. I've meant to try going longer, but my will is weak when it comes to food. I also have been in the "health foods" and "natural foods" business for many years, and spoken with literally dozens -maybe even a hundred?- people who have started or kept going with the master cleanse, and they all reported success. I have never heard one person say "I did that according to a consistent plan for a week or more and it was bunk". But then self-reporting on this sort of thing is not exactly scientific. |

LOL, i've never seen carbonated Lemonade, very interesting. There is supposed to be a reason for the syrup, but I didn't read the whole book just kinda jumping in to try it. It's supposed to be one of the reasons people can go 40.

Natural (preferably organic) grade B maple syrup has a decent amount of trace minerals that are beneficial during the cleanse. Grade A is higher in sugar and lower in mineral content.
Yes, there are probably more effective ways of introducing minerals into the body, , but maple syrup is convenient for the recipe. One better option would be a carefully-selected and measured multi-vitamin and mineral supplement, and agave nectar which is sweet like syrup but has a very low glycemic impact. |

When I had a sip I got the attention of the waiter and told him that I had ordered lemonade.... he said "yeah- that's what I brought you." It took a few minutes of conversation to get it sorted. While we lived there my wife and I made a few pitchers of fresh "American" lemonade. It went down big with our friends.
When you finish the diet try this one- Lime and Ginger juice- Basically make limeade- fresh squeezed limes, but use honey to sweeten instead of sugar. Then grind up some fresh ginger and put the juice in- when you first start a little ginger goes a long way- now my wife and I like it so strong that most other people take a sip and start sweating. GOOD stuff. |

Even if it does work, a week later you'll be chock full o' crap again.
Put a bit more effort into eating properly and you won't feel the need to put yourself through gimmick fasting periods as penance for your usual Sunny-D and Cheez Doodles diet. |

This whole "cleansing" ideology just seems like complete snake oil.
