Staying home New Years Eve?

I am. Just kicking back drinking coffee and practicing. Made no plans, had no invite's and that's okay.

Happy New Year to all!

tplyons 12-31-2012 07:41 PM

I was scuba diving today and am wiped out. I'm staying home and probably won't make it much past midnight.

I'm not the partying type anyway. For me, New Years is just the beginning of getting the date wrong for a few months.

nortonrider 12-31-2012 07:44 PM

I haven't been out on new years eve since the millennium.

bluesblaster 12-31-2012 07:45 PM

Yup, here I am and happy to be here. New years gigs just dont pay like they use to so I dont mind being home tonight. I can go out and party any old night.

Ziltoid 12-31-2012 07:55 PM

I'm not going out, never really did but last year with the ex.

Staying off the roads and heading to the neighbor's front yard bonfire which faces our house, with our baby monitor around my neck. It works across the street just fine and has visual lights if she wakes up or makes a sound.

I can be in the house in less than 5 seconds and could hear her roll over. After some adult beverages it will be off to the hot tub for me and the missus.

Bonfire sounds sweet.

I try not to go out on Amateur Night. This is one of three- New Year's Eve, St Patrick's Day and Halloween. Not worth it and not safe, especially here in the Drinking Capital of America.

SoonerMatt 12-31-2012 08:21 PM

I had some friends from out of town swing by and they tucked in early because they have an early flight tomorrow. I have to get on the road early to drive back to San Antonio so I'm taking it easy.

And then there's this:

I have no interest in social events. Much less on nights in which people will be drinking heavily and then driving.:hyper:

This is a fair point if I've ever seen one.

Another reason to stay in!

Growing up a Michigan fan in SoCal meant that I had plenty of early-to-bed NYE's, and Rose Bowls to catch, the following day. If I am not gigging, or going to a game, I'm chillin' out. Tonight is such an occasion.

I was planning on hanging out with the wife and having a low key kinda night. Then my mother in law called and invited us over. After seeing my mother in law five times in the last seven days or so, I said HELL NO!

I'm kinda in the dog house now and hating my life.

Better luck in 2013!

Oh, so you also live in Lincoln. NU, rated the #1 binge drinking school in the U.S.

But I agree, going down to the Beermuda Triangle on "O" Street is not much different than hanging a sign around you stating "I'm stupid, give me a big fine and suspend my license."

I've been up since 11:30 last night . I'm going to bed ,not going to make it till midnight.

Have a good night

AMEN to that my brother! I caught aq cool movie earlier today with a buddy ("Hyde Park on The Hudson"), and grabbed diner afterwards, me very happy, and I'm avoiding the drunk idiots and amateurs.

We were supposed to be going out to a club then a friend's place tonight, but made some bad dietary choices on the way home from the gig last night.

I'm not risking going anywhere that may involve a line for the bathroom ...

Rip Topaz 12-31-2012 10:05 PM

Yup. Stayed home tonight. Nice quiet (not really) evening with the wife and kids.

bassteban 12-31-2012 10:34 PM

I think I'm getting sick. Not the fun kind :atoz:
