Sign in to disble this ad
Yesterday i try to instal my iligally obtained copy of FEAR 2 (i always do this before buying), it asks me to start steam so i proceed to log in: "invalid username or password" try the "remeber your password" thingy and email does not get to my email, OH GREAT MY STEAM ACC HAS BEEN HIJACKED... i go to the steam site read the crap about how to get my acc back, wich has legaly obtained licences to various games i play on i-net, and troughout the steps there is this *if during the process of hijacking any of your licences has been banned we cant do nothing to revert it" and i was like WTH customer sevice is this pice of **** suposed to be? ive been stolen, im of the very few ppl that even bothers on buying games and i have to rebuy my games because of their stupid security system!

I wish i could hack games and crap so i could participate in taking down steam....

You say you had an illegally obtained copy of F.E.A.R 2? Thats probably whats done your account in, and good job too, games piracy is a bad thing.

I'll tell you now though, F.E.A.R is passable entertainment but it's not as good as F.E.A.R or F.E.A.R Files were in their day.

Ha, I thought this thread would be about the one-hit wonder "band" that had the song "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" in 1969!

Wiki sez:
"Gary DeCarlo, Paul Leka and Dale Frashuer wrote the song in the early 1960s, when the three men were members of a Bridgeport, Connecticut band called The Chateaus...

In 1969, DeCarlo recorded several singles at Mercury Records in New York with Paul Leka as producer... Leka and DeCarlo resurrected an old song [to use as a B-side] from their days as the Chateaus, "Kiss Him Goodbye" with their old bandmate, Dale Frashuer.
To everyone's great surprise, the powers-that-be at the label decided to release the song, now named "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye", as the A-side on Fontana, a Mercury Records subsidiary...

Since none of the musicians wanted credit for the tune, a nonexistent group, "Steam", was concocted. "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" rapidly rose to the top of the pop charts, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for a pair of weeks, on December 6 and 13 of 1969; it was Billboard (magazine)'s final multi-week #1 hit of the 1960s. A touring band, quickly assembled and dubbed "Steam" by their producer, Paul Leka, went on tour with the song but quickly disbanded in 1970."

If you REALLY want to try the full game just download the ISO and mount it in daemon tools. I do this with all games I buy on Steam that don't offer a demo.

I think certain servers can somehow get hold of your log in information.

I had been playing CSS with a buddy of mine. A few days later neither of us could get into our accounts.

We both got them back. But the extra copy of HL2 I had, had been given to some A-holes friend, and they had added a pile of friends (while obviously removing mine).

Was very very annoying to say the least.

Well i cant be banned because of the illegal game intalation because:

-I havent installed the game.
-I havent cracked the game to avoid securom.

So i havent yet commited any crime that steam could charge me with.

I doubt it, they barely manage to keep their regular platform on the go

The whole point of Steam is to prevent hacking. Looks like it works.
Instead of (stupidly, may I say ?) assume that you're in your good right to try and install an illegal copy, why don't you simply LEGALLY download the demo from your usual account ?
It's legal and doesn't bring such issues.
