Absolutely saddening in the tech world I'm sure. We all knew it was imminent when he stepped down from Apple's helm, but not this soon.

Just heard on ABC News. The creepy thing is my friend and I were just talking a few minutes ago about the iPhone event yesterday, and how we were surprised he didn't make an appearance. This is truly tragic. RIP to one of the most inspirational innovators in the history of technology. Nothing short of a visionary, you will be sorely missed!

RIP Steve. Probably this generation's most important technological innovator. He (and, of course, his team at Apple) revolutionised the consumer technology industry, not to mention the music and media industries.

He will be greatly missed. I'm off to hug my Mac and my iPhone now.

Very sad news indeed. I found out about 5 minutes ago. The world has lost a great mind and a great man. Creative genius, visionary, whatever you wish to call him, Steve was a one-of-a-kind. Being a loyal Apple customer since 1998-1999 (when I grew old enough to understand personal computers) this news hit me hard. He truly was the soul of Apple. May you finally rest in peace, Mr. Jobs.

What he did and oversaw during his lifetime. The achievements in technology in such a really short time, is truly incredible. May he rest in peace.

A very sad day. Steve Jobs was instrumental in bringing computers into people's homes. I fondly remember writing games in BASIC on my Apple IIC on a green monochrome monitor.
