Steve-O, Charlie Sheen Roast

Sign in to disble this ad
Not sure how many of you saw this but Steve-O took the opportunity at the Charlie Sheen roast to make fun of the people who were killed and injured at The Station Nightclub fire.

Here is the quote:

"The last time this many nobodies got roasted, at the least the band Great White was playing"

No wonder his show is called JACKASS!

I played at The Station many times and was supposed to go to the show that night. A couple of months after the fire, I was a technical for a show that was held to raise money for the victims. Mark Farner (formerly of Grand Funk Railroad), Rick Derringer, Blue Oyster Cult, Vanilla Fudge and many others performed.

I don't find anything funny about cracking jokes about 100 people losing their lives and 230 more suffering serious injuries.

I don't think you understand the type of humour that is required to participate in and enjoy comedy roasts.

Different strokes, bud. No reason to get all upset about it.

Agreed. It's all ok to be made fun of, or none of it is. You can't draw lines. Maybe there was a joke that you enjoyed that offended others. Do you feel bad for laughing? Somewhere, somebody will be offended.

I think it's funny. Roasts are supposed to be bad.

I'm in the same boat as Rockmusician, I can't dig roasts. The minute one comes on I change the channel. Some of the jokes on them seem to be in really bad or just drownright evil but I guess that's just my take on them.

Roasts are meant to be vulgar, offensive, and mean spirited, so Steve-O's joke is par for course. You want bad? Listen to any roast Gilbert Gottfried and Bob Saget have given.

You must have not been that offended to actually share the quote with everybody in reading distance.

How do you know it isn't an inside joke between Steve-O and the band Great White? Maybe the band GW was playing a party that Steve-O was at and the band started roasting (making fun of) Steve-O and his cohorts?

My ex-brother in law is Mark Kendall, and I know personally that this event still haunts him.

That sad, he's an a-hole, and the joke is still funny.

Roasts are like car crashes, you don't want to want to watch but you have to.

And I laughed at the joke.. its exactly that, a joke.

All of the non-comedians have a team of writers that write material for the roasts. If you don't enjoy very crude humor then avoid them like the plague.

Ah man, if you didn't like that I highly recommend you stay very far away from "The Aristocrats"

Very very far away...

Kinda aside from the steve-o comment, the joke - "how much coke can charlie sheen do? Enough to kill 2 1/2 men." was pretty darn funny...
