Looks like our poor economy is even affecting our rockstars. Not good.

Awesome!

This is satire when it's at its best.

Someone who can not only sing, but also play tambourine and haul heavy equipment, is infinitely more valuable to a company."

I've just heard an update to this story:

they are are now downsizing the whole band to two techs, who will be using this:

and a very large projected image during live shows.

They expect to do a world tour in 2 months as the techs need time to complete the game on expert mode.

I thought this was serious until I saw it was The Onion...

Now I'm disappointed.

True story -- or at least this was told to me as true by an old co-worker who was a big Aerosmith fan from the beginning: Back in the dark days of the late 1970's/early 1980's when Aerosmith was in the doldrums of their career (pre-Pump & MTV) they were still touring regularly & indulging in the excesses that rock stars are reputed to.

Apparently for quite a number of these gigs Steve Perry was simply too drunk/stoned/phuct up to perform. But the band just went on as a 4-piece, and Joe Perry more-than-competantly sang lead for their entire set.

Anyone ever see one of these shows who can confirm this story?

Oh man, that was a scream. I laughed hardest at this part: "the band's experiments as a drug-trafficking cartel from 1978 to 1984" Long live the Onion!

Their career was toast until the Run-DMC collaboration.
