I have them all over. The biotch about is that you cant squish them because they STINK like crazy, if you suck them up in a vacuum cleaner, the vacuum with stink for months and you'll fill your house with that stench every time you vacuum... if you try to grab one with a tissue and are too rough, your fingers will smell like stink bugs...
about the only thing you can do is to grab one gently with a tissue, then pitch it outside. Of course, it just ends up trying to get right back in within an hour or two... these things suck.

| | | | THANK YOU!
1. My girlfriend and I were having an arguement about these a few weeks ago, she said they weren't stinkbugs and I said they were!
B. I have been wondering why these bastards just appeared like two years ago, now I know why I had never seen them before then!

We get the Western conifer seed bug though.

I have seen a couple of those guys around (porch, yard, etc.) over the last few months, and thought they were just some harmless beetle. I wonder if preying mantises will hunt and eat them... |

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing them (like rr5025, others insist they've always been around)

It's funny, I usually leave work with at least on on my windshield. I jokingly see how "aerodynamic" they are. One was real good until about 56-57 mph. Definitely a very funky looking bug.

-Mike | +1 on this method....just gently poke them into a paper cup or box and flush 'em!

The insects are sometimes pounded together with spices and a seasoning to prepare cheo, a paste mixed with chillies and herbs. This is eaten as a side dish with glutinous rice. (from wikipedia)
guess you should start thinking about changing your diet

I have (intrepidly I may add) eaten some insect dishes (crickets, some sort of beetle, etc) but these things are waaay way strong in odor. Just smelling a squished one can make me vomit, I can't even begin to imagine eating them.. :ee k:

We played a party at his house Saturday, and we called ourselves "The Stinkbugs" for the night, in honor of the invasion.

NOTE: remember, there's nothing like a good stink to bring a party to life.

Not that they are extremely common (to me, at least), but they are very well known. The first instinct after seeing one is to leave it alone, since it supposedly won't stink if it isn't disturbed. That smell is supposedly created by a "piss" they have, and they only piss if molested. Anyway, I can't sleep if I know there's a chinche in my house. |

BTW: I do not consider an infestation of stink bugs to be a plague. I consider it to a blessing and a bestowal of grace. Always remember a good stink is a terrible thing to waste.
