Straight Edge?

Sign in to disble this ad
So a few straight edge type threads have been cropping up lately. Does anyone else feel like creating a counter movement?

Maybe 'Bent Edge'? Although that does sound a tad homosexual. Any more suggestions for the movement?

I was at a show last week, working the front door for the venue when a bunch of straight edge stupid kids tried to start a fight with some smokers.

Silliest damn thing I've ever seen. Until some metalhead threw a chair and we called the cops.

I believe the term you are looking for is "normal"

But that's not cool man, nobody's gonna respect us if we don't have scene credibility.

I associate Straight Edge with violence.

In, of my experience, this is how many of these people get their kicks. That and too many just conduct themselves in a manner that just really gets under my skin.

Those kids piss me the hell off...It one thing to not drink or w/e its a totally different thing to RUB IT IN EVERYONE'S FACES. Little ***** with their emo haircuts, give clean living a bad name. Its the same thing as me getting a prius and then talking about my gas mileage all damn day.

They are also the annoying kid in college who wont shut up ever...who eventually caves, gets bombed and throws up on your couch, asking you why you didn't make him drink sooner and telling you how much he loves you.

Don't disrespect Bent Edge Maki, we know how to really party. I don't want to go out at night and have to worry about sitting around in the harsh light of sobriety and actually remembering it.

Except that he isn't.

Simple reason, he never said he was.

When I was in college about 10-years ago, I met some guy in my class that said he had a band and they were looking for a bass player. He kept using the term "straight edge" (which I'd never heard) as he was going on and on about the band. I finally had to stop him and ask what "straight edge" was. When he explained it, I replied "DUDE, I'm a "head"". He asked what that was and I explained that it was essentially the opposite of "straight edge". That cracks me up to this day!

Straight edge people are clean-bodied people with horribly messy minds.

Clean people are, well, clean. No problem with them.

Uhm, I think the counter movement you are looking for was born in the 60s.

Just saying.
