Stupidity

Lovie Smith: Hurd drug arrest 'total surprise' - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN

If he is guilty, he deserves 30 years just for sheer stupidity. I cannot imagine someone taking up space in college and then being in pro football, but being so uncreative that he cannot think of anything other than drug dealing to increase his wealth.

This situation makes me think of the Cincinnati/Xavier fight last week after there game because one of the stars said that "where we're from we're not gonna let someone get in our face," or something close to that. The whole "where we're from bit," annoys the neck out of me. IME, a mark of intelligence is understand where you are. In other words, if you are now a student in college, try acting like a student in college, and not some tough guy on a street corner.

The same thing applies to Hurd, the Bears wide reciever and alleged kingpin wannabe. If he got into drugs because some pal from back suggested it, then he is a double dummy. The only way I might have any sympathy would be if the Feds sought him out and entrapped him. Even then, he could have simply told the agent to go to hell!

I also like it when I hear: "Where I'm from..." out of someone who comes from the same place I do.

They may as well just substitute: "Since my mamma didn't raise me right ..."

I don't think you have to entrap anyone that's looking to buy several kilos of coke and a thousand pounds of weed on a weekly basis. I guess that pro football salary was just not enough.

What ever happened to starting small?

Federal prosecutors say Hurd wanted to buy five to 10 kilograms of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana to distribute in Chicago.

Asking someone to get by on about $1,300,000 a year in this economy is asking a lot. No wonder he turned to a second job. He probably has kids to buy shoes for.

Thank you, Mr. Hurd, for waiting until after your time in Big D to do this nonsense.

I wouldn't be surprised if this were very common, but it makes me sad that someone with genuine options made this choice. The reward could be very high, but the risk is social death. At least with legitimate investments the risk is just going broke.

The other thing is a young brother fits the profile, the moment she moves in that direction, law enforcement will be watching in way they might not for others. That is why falling into this trap is such a downer.

Kind of like a dog peeing on a fire hydrant, you just can't help yourself, can you?

it is sad, Dr.Cheese!

in my early days playing music, i saw guys getting signed and immediately investing in large drug deals instead of legit businesses. the reason i say they're sloppy is why would a public figure allow himself to be caught with their hands in the dirt?

never put clean money in the street and never bring dirty money out of the street. i hate when king-pins actually participate in a drug deal,... that's what grunts are for!!!

am i saying too much???

(in other words,... i would have NEVER been implimented)
