I just watched District 9 from Netflix. Great movie, and I'm mailing it in today. You can have it next.

Don't if you like foreign movies, but "Old Boy" was a killer Korean flick!

"Buddy Boy" was also pretty good.

+1 on District 9

I have The Hurt Locker incoming. I've heard it's supposed to be one of the best war movies of our times from my film nerd friends.

+1 on The Hurt Locker. It really is the best war movie since FMJ if you ask me.

Stuff you can "watch instantly" -

Teeth - GREAT funny/somewhat disturbing movie. Warning - there are some graphic scenes.

+1 on OldBoy - it really is a good flick.

King of Kong - cool/funny documentary about 2 rival players trying to beat the world record on Donkey Kong Jr. It really pulls you in and makes you take sides.

Fido - The Zombie apocolypse has happened, but now they're mostly under control and people are keeping them as pets.

more later.

I put King of Kong and Fido in my queue. I've seen all the other suggestions. I watch a lot of movies I guess...

You've seen Dark Star? I thought that was at least fairly obscure.

I saw it w/Silent Running in the 70s- I was probably 11. Impressive, especially considering the context- pre-Star Wars & all. I need to see it again soon...
