I'm looking for a wireless router/gateway with some more advanced admin features than the standard one I've got. I need to be able to prevent internet access for certain mac address except during scheduled times. Basically, I'm trying to limit each kid to a couple hours of internet per day, then block them the rest of the time. They still need wireless access to the home network for printing and such, but no WAN access. The one I've got will schedule access, but it applies to everyone. I need some addresses to work all the time.
Any suggestions for a not too expensive unit that can do this?
Thanks,
MX

However, I will state it in a different way. Why limit your kids internet usage? To put this into perspective, I'm a System Administrator. If my parents made any attempt at limiting the amount of time I spent fiddling around I would have given up and played video games.

You install it between your PC's and your router. It lets you set up user profiles for internet access and will even display remaining time to the user. It also provides excellent security. One drawback is some of the advanced security features and spam filtering requires a subscription.
Otter.

The kids tend to chat, browse, watch movies or whatever to the exclusion of homework, chores, sleeping, etc., if I don't intervene. Plus I want to keep a layer of security and filtering.

You can also regulate that kind of activity in group policy within Windows.
