We'd like to take a visit to see our friendly neighbors to the north. We've narrowed it to between Ottawa and Winnipeg. Been to Toronto before. Got 4-5 days after getting there. |

The 'Peg as it's known tends to get giant friggin' mosquitoes, which has generated that joke about the guy working at a dockside floatplane refueling station getting about 4 gallons of LL80/87 into one of the damn things before he realized it was a bug.....

There is more to Winnipeg than mosquitos.
Also depending on when you are coming there are usually a lot of concerts here big and small.
Sample:
Petty with Joe Cocker- June 19th
Eagles/Dixie Chicks - June 22 (outdoors)
Maiden - June 30th
Bon Jovi - July 17th (outdoors)
Rock on the Range - Aug 7 (Stone Temple Pilots, Godsmack plus several other bands, outdoors)
Not that you necessarily want to see any of those bands or even attend a concert.

Montreal is truly a unique city and if you're looking for music you're not going to beat the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Ottawa's fine but, honestly, after a day you will have pretty much seen all there is to see. |

Winterpeg... summer, two months of bad skiing!
Ottawa... summer, three months of bad canal skating
In all honesty, you ned to give us more info and I'm sure you will get many opinions.
Fishheadjoe
PS... fishin is probably better in the Winterpeg area! LOL

Believe me, if I had an opportuntiy to leave this armpit of humanity, I would in a flash, alas it seems my life will be spent being pretentious and learning some 100 new languages in order to speak to anyone on the street!

Going to be there July 18-25 roughly. Me, the wife and our 15 year old son. Like outdoors stuff. Like history. Like scenery. Like fun street and local food. 15-year old doesn't like driving around too much. Prefer getting to a destination, then getting around on local mass transit or staying pretty close. |
