Don't know if anyone else has seen this, but the Japanese are doing an anime version of "Supernatural;" first season just finished in Japan. I hear it should be released in English (with the original actors doing the voices for the English version) in the near future; don't know if it'll be on TV or on DVD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAexvihA3Nc

When America was still ignorant, for the most part, the stuff that we DID get was usually TOP quality... Now, witch such mainstream success, you'll get english dubs/subs on ANYTHING, and with SO much coming out, it's very hard to find the good from the bad, unless you keep up on everything.
The series, 'K-On', has been pretty awesome so far, for example

Supposedly the first season is basically the first season of the US Supernatural, just done up as anime. Why not just show the original? If you're going to do it as anime, why not jin up new stories? Mind, I haven't been a big fan of anime in about 15 years; the last series I really liked was Tekkaman Blade; when they started 'rebooting' Gundam all over the place, they started losing me. I'm not sure what the point is in this case. Some of the trailer was enjoyable, but other bits were just - eh...what? why? And I'm not sure if I really like the art style they're using here. At least with the various comic book series here in the US, they're doing new storylines, not rehashing the TV series itself. *Sigh* Yeah, I've got mixed emotions on this one, can you tell? I was hoping for something a lot better, and am afraid it's gonna be even worse than what I now expect...
And yeah, K-On is great!

I think every season there's at least one that is REALLY worth watching and Code Geass, one of the greatest anime ever created (imo, of course) was created only a year or two ago

Death Note with some action...
Makes you think a bit. Main character isn't a total wimp. Very satisfying ending, well for me anyway.

I've been trying to find FLCL for cheap cuz I haven't seen it in ages. I'm really getting tired of being bombarded with Bleach and Inuyasha constantly.
oh and first anime I ever watched was Iria | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
