Move anything even remotely religion-based to the Lobby, including prayer requests, what bass for gospel, and the P&W bassist thread. Participants could cite scripture or praise the Lord (as they already do), and the atheist/agnostic/secular humanist crowd would not feel discriminated against. Everyone would be afforded more latitude; the usual rules of respect continue to apply. |

I'm not a supporting member because I wanted the lobby and the avatar and the custom user title and all of that bonus stuff. I paid up because I wanted to give something back to TB after everything that I got out of it for the 3 years that I was here before then.
If you think that something needs doing with the lobby, either lift the restrictions on subjects of discussion and recruit a couple of new mods to stamp out the flames when things go too far/get too personal, or just close it and forget that it ever existed. I'm in favour of the first option - those who aren't interested in politics/morality/religion/whatever can either avoid the specific threads or avoid the lobby altogether.
