I had started a thread on this a few days ago: Swine flu - media hype, or should we be concerned?
BTW - I do vaguely remember the 1976 swine flu scare though I was a wee young un, crazy stuff

Pork futures are down the last 2 days. Great time to
buy some ribs and pork tenderloins.
Consumers seem to think swine flu can be transmitted
by eating pork, but that is ABSOLUTELY FALSE.
Maki will probably get it from some snot nosed kid in
his class sneezing on him. Of course, not that those
kids in school ever wash their hands or anything.

We're just going to keep a closer eye on things and if the symptoms begin to deteriorate then we will both go to the doctor. In short a runny nose, sore throat, and slight fever, are not going to panic us into rushing to see a doctor just yet because it could be just a common cold. If the symptoms begin to deteriorate then we shall go see a doc.

Have you ever looked at statistics for people who die of the flu every year? |

I got a pretty intense flu last week. Even though my throat looked like the average Left 4 Dead enemy, I breathed without a lot of trouble.
I don't know, I think there's a some overreaction. Medias around here are pretty reassuring, but I think that's what fuels the paranoia.
