i thought his books were pretty good, although i haven't read the last few (read up to pillars of creation). a bit too many jordanisms for my tastes, but that's to be expected in the post WOT era, i guess.

I find it elevating and exhilarating to discover that we live in a universe which permits the evolution of molecular machines as intricate and subtle as we. - Carl Sagan
Rock 'n' Roll... It's got nothing to do with journalists, and it hasn't really even got anything to do with musicians, either. - Pete Townsend

Can't stand Jordan. To me, it's like reading shifting sands with no end in sight, on and on and on with incohesive characters.

I'd encourage you to read the rest of the SoT series tho---gets pretty intense to a wonderful climax.

I've read both the WoT and SoT series. I preferred SoT. It may not be as masterfully written as WoT but it moves much more quickly and I found it thoroughly entertaining.
