AT&T Question

I currently have an iPhone with AT&T. I absolutely love the phone and don't have a problem with the service, but I don't use all the features if the iPhone, and it's expensive (I pay $90/month). This summer my girlfriend and I want to go on a plan together, and the cheapest family plan with AT&T with unlimited texting is $99.99/month. If i go to them and show them that I can get the same deal with T-Mobile for $20 less per month, think they'll bite and try to match it?

if you've been with them for 2 years, they may do it if you tell them what you want....cell companies don't like losing customers....they are pretty negotiable if they can keep you...

If you have been with them for a few years ask for the customer retention dept. They can wheel and deal more than a normal CSR.

Don't "ask" AT&T to lower their price by that much. Tell them, "I'm taking my buisness elsewhere unless you beat their price." Don't accept anything else.

My dad has been very sucessful at this over the years with Sprint. Last time we got 4 free phones that were selling for $100 after the rebates, and a cheaper plan with more minutes. We're due for more free phones soon...

NOTE: Always do these negotiations when your contract is up. They know there is a $175 cancellation fee and they won't have any problem with you leaving early if you've got time left on the contract.
